Radio

Since 1997 I have been  working for several Radio Stations in Cologne, including the National Broadcasting Station Deutschlandfunk. In 2006 I was invited to join the presentation team, and so once a week I swap my desk for Deutschlandfunks studio H5.1. My special focus is contemporary Anglosaxon Literature, and I have been fortunate to interview many achieved Writers, including John Banville and Richard Powers.
Radio is the medium I like best. I have always been an avid listener. Alistair Cooke's Letter from America (BBC), Sunday Miscellany (RTÉ). The morning broadcast from RIAS Berlin, Mosaik on WDR3. Occasionally after midnight the dial tunes into something and a voice calls from the ether, bringing the scraps of a broadcast that was never meant for me. Only radio can do that.
